About Us
History
Star Bolt, Inc was founded in 1973 in Little Rock, AR by Ray and Lauraetta Edgar. They ran the business out of the basement in their home, with two small filing cabinets with a door placed over them for a desk. The Edgar's built the business on the simple philosophy that the customer comes first. Being the new kid on the block meant that they took the jobs that the larger fastener companies did not want to handle. The Edgar's saw this as an opportunity to get their foot in the door.
Star Bolt continued to grow and in 1978 moved out of the basement to a much larger facility near downtown Little Rock. It was during these next few years that the business started to flourish. People around Little Rock soon realized that if you could not find the fastener you were looking for at Star Bolt then you probably would not find it anywhere in town. After a lengthy illness, Ray passed away in 1988.
Lauraetta soon realized that Star Bolt had outgrown its building and she saw the need for a larger facility. In 1989 she purchased a building and moved Star Bolt to its current home in North Little Rock, AR. This distribution center is conveniently located just off interstate 30, and just a few miles from interstate 40. This location made it easier for customers to access and made it easier for Star Bolt to service central Arkansas more efficiently.
